Recent school fun!

Addison and her classmates learned about the letter "P" last week. On Friday, they had an "If you Give a Pig a Pizza Party"! She came home wearing a pig nose that she made and had a balloon from the party, too. She also brought home two pieces of artwork--a painted pink pig and a picture of a pizza that she made. It was a fun day for her!



Last week, Weston had "Science is Fun Night" at school. He enjoyed many activities, but I think his favorite thing was holding snakes!





Weston and several of his buddies are really into reading the Magic Treehouse book series. We ordered 18 pounds worth of books for him off of eBay and they came in the mail last week and he was one happy boy!! I had to get a picture of him with all of his "loot"...

Valentine's Day

We had a fun Valentine's Day this past week! On Monday (the day before) Addison celebrated at her preschool with a little party.

They enjoyed some yummy food...



Addison's teachers put heart tattoo's on them at the party...always a fun favorite!



Then on Tuesday--Valentine's Day--we helped throw a party for Weston and his classmates during their lunch period! They had pizza, heart-shaped fruit, and cake pops!

For teacher gifts this year for Weston and Addison's teachers, I gave little Starbucks gift cards and attached a little tag that said, "Happy Valentine's Day! Latte love, Weston/Addison". Then, Weston went with sports-themed goodie bags for his classmates and Addison had photo Valentine cards for her classmates in a baggie with candy.




On Valentine's night, we fixed a steak fillet dinner and the four of us ate by candle light. Then we gave Weston and Addison their little treat! Weston got a baseball bat with tornado necklace and Addison got matching PJ's for her and her doll, Kirsten, and slippers. What a fun day!




Of course, Addison had to immediately take her bath so she could try our her new pajamas!


And, finally, I just wanted to share this painting that Addison made at school just because I wanted to remember it! I thought it was so sweet...

Nursery Rhyme Day

Addison had nursery rhyme day at her preschool yesterday morning. She had fun dressing up as Mary Had a Little Lamb!

Last weekend

Last weekend was a full, but fun weekend! Weston's class pet guinea pigs came home from school with him on Friday afternoon to spend the weekend with us! On Friday night, we had a babysitter (Jordyn, from the next town over came up--she was the first sitter outside of our family to keep both of our kids) and Bob and I enjoyed date night, while the kids had fun hanging out with Miss Jordyn!

Bright and early on Saturday morning, Weston had a basketball game to play. Then, we came home and got ready to head to a family birthday lunch! Later that afternoon, we went to a school-wide "Top Dog" event for Weston's school at USC Upstate, where we attended a womens basketball game. As principal, Bob had to go out on the court during half time to see how many baskets he could shoot in 30 seconds. For every basket he made, he won a coupon to hand out to students who were there from his school. Weston loved watching the game and hanging out with his buddies and especially loved when they played "Sandstorm". Addison's favorite part was watching and high-fiving the mascot, Spartan.



On Sunday, we traveled to Columbia to watch the back-to-back National Champion USC Gamecock baseball team scrimmage! It was another fun day. Weston brought one of his fellow Gamecock-buddies along for the day! We're excited that baseball season is right around the corner!





And one of the highlights of the day was getting some autographs and having a picture made with All American first baseman, Christian Walker!

I can't believe it's already Thursday and almost time for another weekend! This week has been busy and has flown by! Today, I'm working on a nursery rhyme character costume for Addison to wear to school next week and Weston has Aristocats play practice after school and a costume check for the play that is exactly a month away!
